  2. Courtney posted a few very roughly cut scenes on vimeo. I posted my most revised shooting script (further revised since then) and the call sheet from Saturday.

  4. The scene in the ice cream shop…I’m trying to figure out why it’s a closer shot on the girl and not the guy. It’s just kind of odd looking, but I’m pretty sure this is because it is only a rough cut and was put together quickly, but just wondering :)

Otherwise, good job so far! Keep it up

  6. Good stuff on the scenes on Vimeo. Rather than comment on each scene there I'll combine them here.

There is some great chemistry between your actors, especially in the scene at the ice cream shop and at when he comes home to find Leyla waiting for him. I've left my concerns about dealing with the technology on Courtney's blog post. Be aware of it all and hopefully it won't be a problem in the future.

My main criticism with the scenes is with cinematography. It pains me to say it because Jon Mahoney was my gaffer on Geoff's movie and he's a great guy but I have a great deal of gripes with his shot composition. Many shots had the camera and/or the actors awkwardly placed and moved around the scene. I hope you have some extra coverage and/or that it can be remedied with some creativity in the editing room. There's also some problems with lighting, but that may be from the compression issues that you had when uploading.

  7. I don't really have much to say since I am very much involved in your capstone, but the script is great! I think our shoot on saturday went VERY VERY well! I think Emilio brought up some really interesting points, but I think it is important to mention how monday night filming the ice cream shop scene was miserable. A lot of things went wrong and we were really pressed for time. I think Sam also brings up a good point, but I am not sure what we should do since we do not have all that much coverage for that particular scene. We will have to work on that together. I am going to try and do a rough edit of the new scenes we shot over the weekend, but you really need to show me how to compress the footage so it is not fuzzy. Keep up the great work! Don't stress as much!
